Designing activities is not enough; teachers must also facilitate meaningful interaction. This involves guiding discussions, encouraging contributions, and making learners feel their input is valued.
- Moderated discussion forums with stimulating questions
Forums are central spaces where students share perspectives and build knowledge collectively. Teachers can post thought–provoking prompts, monitor participation, and intervene when needed to keep dialogue focused and inclusive.

Feedback is most effective when it is both prompt and specific. Using the Feedback activity or Assignment comments, teachers can acknowledge strengths, suggest improvements, and ensure learners feel supported. Constructive feedback builds trust and motivates continued engagement.

To help students see the “big picture,” teachers can periodically summarize forum threads or discussions. Posting these summaries on a Page or Forum thread highlights connections, clarifies main points, and keeps the group aligned with the learning objectives.
